MorningPrayer Sunday

Dear God,
   It is a big earth.  There are people scattered like stars and galaxies across our planet and so many are unhappy and in distress.  What can we do, God?  How can we help?  You ask us to do justice and kindness  but how can we reach out to so many? In our own neighborhood, we can share  in compassion and love but what about the turmoil around the earth? How can we help?  Show us the way and give us a prayer and shower us with peace and loving kindness wherever we are.  It is clear that we are failing and we need your help. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
