MorningPrayer Sunday

Thank You God,
   For all that we have.  Many of us live in comfort with enough food, water, housing, clothing and luxury items.  Many of us have family, friends, community and church to support us.  Many of us have jobs and hobbies that are fulfilling and give us a sense of pleasure and meaning.   May we be so bold as to share  our fortune and meaning with others in a loving caring way.  May we share the happiness of our comforts as divine blessings and live in gratitude and joy in these days of our life.  In Jesus name we pray, AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
