MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
    May we be true to ourselves.  May we find our true voice and not be like Mocking bird who speaks the song of many.   Sometimes, like Hummingbird we beat our wings furiously to stay in place and we exhaust ourselves. May we be allowed to soar quietly on broad wing like Eagle and find peace and serenity. May we occasionally flash brilliantly like Cardinal or sometimes disappear into a bush like Sparrow. May we always be loving like Angel and speak in God voice of compassion and wisdom. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
