MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
   This is a day of remembrance and thanks for those who have served our country in the military.  We are grateful to them and their families who have given of themselves, endured and sacrificed.  But we also pray for a more peaceful world, where humanity  has matured and grown out of greed, fear and intolerance. We believe that your vision for us is a table of blessing where we can all partake together and where the lion and the lamb lie down together. So, we crawl and march forward like toddlers  learning to walk. Help us in your wisdom, love and grace. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
