MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
     Help us to live in awareness, recognition and gratitude for the comforts and blessings of our lives.  With thankful hearts and minds we can offer these gifts of understanding to our immediate world and to the larger world. In the dark of night or the light of day, we can pause and breathe a deep breath of wonder at the mystery that is us, and that is part of our universe. In love with the eternal and infinite, we are your humble servants. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
