MorningPrayer Sunday

Holy God,
     We give thanks for our mother's who held us in their arms and nurtured us. Who did the best they could to care for us, their delicate children.  Who never released us from their hearts but prepared us to fly forth and soar, each in our own way. For their faith, devotion and love to their calling, we give thanks.  We see you, O God, as a universal mother, loving, caring, and giving us the freedom to sing our song.  Thank you God. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
