MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
You are as much an attitude of our being as a belief of our thoughts.  We choose to be in the universe of your presence and open up our hearts beyond the confines of our chest. We choose to search the infinite limits of our mind and still find you there.  We choose humility of the earth so our souls can expand.  We see the universe expanding, and feel ourselves exploding. We choose not belief but presence and being and life itself. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Holy Creator God,
Today is an exclamation point of new beginning or of ending!  Billions of years have brought us to this point in eternity and we proclaim infinity as the breath and heartbeat of your love. We enter the sanctuary of your grace and allow the week to flow away like the northern lights glowing.  We welcome the new week  like the jet stream flowing. The stars awaken the mystery inside of us, and we boldly proclaim that we will live in awe and embrace mystery and love. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Holy God,
Are we worthy?
   To call us by name?
To call us out and have us stand?
If we be worthy, then lift the light within us.
Let us shine as a beacon.
Let our gifts glow in the dark of night and the light of day.
Whatever small or great light we are.
     Whatever treasures reside in us;
let us radiant be, our love to show and shine.
Yes. We are worthy. Call us... AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Breathe. Breathe quietly the beginning of a new day.
Allow God to enter in, and be part of the silence.
Be still. Know God is part of our quiet, our connection to the mystery.
Prepare us Lord in the flowing Spirit for the wonder of Holiness.
Tenderly. Embrace time and know God in our inner space. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Dear God,
May our history refresh us and may we refresh our history into truth of who we are. May we cast our memory like a fishing net and catch the thoughts and dance of our lives that help us to live more effectively.  Please direct us where to throw the net and bring to our mind the events of life that will help us grow and live healthier more complete lives. May you, O God, be the director  of our memory. AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Heavenly Lord,
We stretch our minds to the heavens, casting star-fired thoughts into the cosmos. Our hopes and dreams glitter and sparkle in the dark, as we release pain and grief into the noiseless void. May the angels of creation lovingly hold our stars in their haloed brow and sing songs of mystery that flow like rainbows.  We are children of light, the fiery light of your burning, the hopes of your dreaming. We are born into life, souls aflame. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Dear God,
Let's be honest, it is not all perfect in our life.  There is room for improvement and change.  In fact, there are details of discontent to numerable to even mention. We could go on and on, but, really, -- You have offered us what we need, and a blessing to boot. We need, with a little help, to shake our attitude and give thanks.  To be grateful and quit whining. MorningPrayer Saturday

Holy God,
Morning is somersaulting in, rumble over billowing rumble.  Carry us away, we shout. Set us on the peak of creation and the pinnacle of life. Morning has broken open, the heavens rejoice and humanity exclaims, awe.  What splendor have you set before us, O God, that we, mortals that we are, should taste immortality and see eternity? How can we fathom the expanse of the heavens and the depth of a molecule? "Be still, and know that I am God." AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Dear God,
Sometimes we are overwhelmed with complexities; we are assaulted with sights, sounds, smells that overtake our spirit.  Too much! Too much, we cry. We need simplicity so our spirit can breathe and be free. We need purity of line and uncomplicated spaces.  Like a baby exploring a cardboard box, we need emptiness to fill with our own creative impulses. Help us to simplify. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Dear God,
Is that a cricket or a wee bird, chirping awake our eyes this morning?  Or is it the twinkling in our minds, the residue of a slippery dream or the details of a day ticked off with a pen?  Maybe it is prayers coming to roost in our heart and mind, from people who love and care and share their hopes for our life through the vehicle of grace.  Or God, is it you, reminding us that life is a tick at a time and we best make the most of it, for the Holy Spirit is moving us on and heaven is now. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Lord God,
Help us to understand this moment of eternity. What silent sounds shall we submit to creation as part of our symphony?  Shall we compose prayers of peace and contentment and meditate them into the universe, part of the echo of our soul and the flash of our spirit? As we sit beside the still waters in the palm of your hand, let us be part of the Holy breath, the air stirred by the butterfly wing. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Dear God,
We cannot fathom the speed of our planet nor the twist of its turn. Our heads spin while standing still in the presence of blue and white and green and awe.  Such holiwork has been done in the cosmic dimension that we feel compelled to imitate you in our earthly arts. We fall short but we are grateful for the opportunity. Thank you God. AMEN

Morning Prayer Tuesday

Dear God,
The flow of time stops us in our tracks. Here we are.  Right here, right now. Gripped in space and frozen in time.  Are we an illusion, a figment of ;your cosmic imagination?  Or are we so real that we bleed and breathe.  Are we aware that we are in time? Can we even stop and be still and count the molecules on our hand and the slant of the sun against the pavement.  Alive, we scream. A new I.  A new creation. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Dear God,
We have tasks to be done. Goals to reach. Objectives to accomplish. Chores to do. Help us in our doing and reaching and grasping and accomplishing to be mindful of the moment. To whistle and sing with pleasure the opportunity to be alive. To take joy in what we have that demands that we therefore have things to do. But, also help us to be aware and mindful of this time and our breath and the people in our world. May we not e  so engrossed in what we do, that we forget to stare at a leaf on a tree. AMEN
