MorningPrayer Monday

Holy Lord,
     There are times when we are conflicted in our joys and sorrows.  Times when our cheeks overflow with laughter and tears. Times when we wonder about the Spirit and where it is leading us. And yet, when we empty ourselves of ourself and open up to the Spirit of Holiness we find you there, whispering, nudging and filling our hearts and minds. May we, in our tears and our laughter find you, filling us full and providing nurture and grace in abundance.  In Jesus, we pray, AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
