MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
   Our prayer is one of brokenness and longing.  The world is fractured and humanity lies bleeding.  We truly do need a savior.  We cannot do it by ourselves; our very humanness prevents us.  Our ego, pride, arrogance and unknowing prevents us from healing.  Yes, we are amazing in our technology and our art but in our relationships and ideology we need help, O God.   This Christmas we place ourselves in the nativity of your mercy and the manger of your healing love. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
