MorningPrayer Friday

Dear God,

Be Still!
Be still and know you, O God.
Let us pause and in the silence, hear your voice, your whisper, your hushed presence.
In the serenity of the silent trees, the pond without a ripple, the butterfly on the bush may we in complete stillness be.
No movement, no sound, no activity.
Let our breath be slow and even as we inhale and exhale.
May we pause in the infinite and experience your eternity, O God.
AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
