MorningPrayer

Lord,      Open up the cavity of our chest until it expands like the milky way flowing across the heavens.  May our breath be like the solar wind, racing past stars, tumbling through the asteroids and leaping black holes. May we leap frog over galaxies and laugh the praise of life and love.  May we be born again in a starburst and land in a heavenly universe of new birthing. May your name be etched on our hearts  forever. AMEN

Dear God,       Sometimes our nerves are frayed and torn; like the teeth of a comb pulled across the blackboard. We clench our teeth and try to be patient.  Help us, God.  May we be soothed by the whisper of your presence, by the singing of the angels, by the murmur of the Holy Spirit. Help us to step away from ourselves and be still in the midst of the irritation.  May life be made smooth and stressful situations resolved. AMEN

Dear God,     Moving mountains is arduous work, and yet with your help and in your grace it must be possible.  We ask for assistance in moving the mountains of poverty and injustice.  We need your breath and hand to help us in the landslides of soothing people's nerves and hearts.  We need wisdom to move the mountains required for peace and reconciliation.  So, God, we will pray as hard as we can, but in you  we put our trust and faith to move those mountains. AMEN

Holy God,   In peace let us be:       as a floating leaf is to the air in which it drifts.       as a yawn is to a sigh.       as a cat is to a purr.       as a  rainbow  is to the sun and rain       as a breath is to the heartbeat       as a wish is to a prayer In peace let us be. AMEN

Dear God,     Thank you for inviting us into a life of service to one another.  As servants, we offer kindness, compassion, caring forgiveness and are truly blessed.  Help us to continue to see the Christ in each other and to care for the unspoken hurts and needs of our family, friends and community. May our day be a living prayer. AMEN

Dear God,     Help us to remember that the outside world doesn't tell us who we are.     May we have clear vision of our inner self.     In our self image may we be the reflection of your spirit.     May our guide for happiness be the measure of our loving spirit, filled from within. Dear God, in you may we be whole. AMEN

Dear God,    In the midst of noise, confusion, activity and energy output equal to the sun we launch our solar self into the day, absorbing sunspots and gamma rays. Our electrons buzz in excitement as we burn a trail of atomic vapor, leaving planets of accomplishment in our wake and playing leap frog with asteroids... and then, we pause. We reflect. We stop and meditate on our being and on our God. To you, God, we owe the thanks and praise for this day, our universe and our actions. AMEN
