MorningPrayer

Dear God,    May we be alive today; awakened senses, filled with the taste of lemon and the smell of roses. May our eyes see galaxies spinning and our hands touch the oceans depths. May our ears be filled with the tears and laughter of humanity groaning and singing. May our hearts flow with the spirit wind of countless prayers.  May our minds know you, God, as we walk the endless sands of time. Hear our prayer, O God.

Dear God,     In concern and compassion we lift up our hearts and prayers for those who are ill and distressed, dis-eased and diseased.  From our own zones of comfort and ease we recognize our blessings in gratitude and ask for wellness and wholeness for those in need. May our prayers be on the breath of the Holy Spirit and may God answer our prayers. AMEN

Dear God,    Let us be beauty-- walking, talking, being.     Let us be balance--leveling, harmonizing, steady.    Let us be peace--forgiving, caring, gentle.    Let us be love--gracious, eternal, infinite.    Let us be you--beauty, balance, peace, love.    AMEN

Lord,     We hear your voice, saying, "Stop and breathe. Fill yourself with new air and old wisdom. Explore once  again the meaning of silence, stillness and the Holy breath that fills your cells and ignites your thoughts of the sacred. Look at the stardust in your veins and be happy. You are born of the beginning of time and will be for all eternity." AMEN

Dear God,    The mighty oak has fallen. It has graced our yard, a fortress of strength, shade and habitat for many long years.  It has caught the early sun and crowned the departing day, but now it lies tasseled like a tumbleweed. But even still, it has energy for our world. It becomes fire, light and heat. It becomes food for the garden and a pathway in the meadow. It raises in us words of awe and thanks and praise for the beauty and wonder of nature. We say, thank you God, for this tree and for the wonder of all life. AMEN

Dear God,    Early birds have raised the curtain with song and dance and darkness flees across the hills. In the rhythm of this exotic dance, this ritual of life, we play our part; may we be the balance point of goodness and evil. May the purity of our souls be secure in your hold, O God. Do not let us falter or fall and fling us into harmony and brilliance so we might shine in the morning rush with your loving kindness. Let us cavort with flickering wings and golden dust falling from our hair. May our dance of love be your Word of grace. AMEN

Holy Lord,     The world is your temple and your word explodes through it like crashing thunder and like flower petals opening from a nights rest.   What do we see and what do we hear that we are mindful of you?  What thoughts and decisions do we have or create that bring us onto sacred ground?  Surely, we cannot explain it all.  Surely, we are brought into mystery and majesty at the mere thought of the stars and the sands of time. We are humbled and yet at the same time, filled with promise and potential. Lift us up, O God, and create in us hearts of creation's love. AMEN

Dear God,     Help us to do the tedious things that need doing.  The tasks and chores that seem meaningless and bothersome but are yet so necessary for day to day existence.  And more than that, may we enjoy that moment, be mindful of the potential joy, be in the rhythm of doing and caring about the task.  May we do the dishes, wash the floor, weed the garden, make a business call with the same attention that you paint the sunset. AMEN

Dear God,      Some people say that life is mainly attitude... but how do you have the right attitude;  the attitude that works best and makes for happiness and meaning? You see, Lord, no offense, but it is easier said than done.  And sometimes, even with the right attitude, life still comes crashing down around you.  Have you noticed that, God?  We remember that St. Paul said, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances."  I guess we will keep doing these three things until we believe it. Help us to float in faith... Thank you, God. AMEN

Dear God,     Every now and then we forget to stop our activities and look in the mirror;  not to see our reflection but to see who we really are.  Help us to pause and contemplate the essence of our existence and to be grateful and give thanks and wake up, once again, to the wonder and mystery of life around us. If the angels are watching us, what do they see?  If we are watching ourselves, what do we see? Help us to see clearly. AMEN

Holy Lord,    Is that a lullaby of the heart we hear; a melody of our soul sighing and dreaming? Is it an angel feather drifting and floating through the air, singing and murmuring the sounds of the universe expanding and loving. Is it the Spirit most Holy whispering to our spirit, words of encouragement and serene repose? Allow us, God, to float in meditative stillness, to rest our weary souls and heal our wounds. "Be still, and know God." AMEN

Holy Lord,    Sometimes we wonder what is truly important in our lives.  Is it the perfect cup of tea or most excellent coffee? Is it the 5 star rating on our car or the purity of our water?  Is it the money in the bank or the mulch in the garden?  Is it a job well done or a nap well taken? ... Whatever it might be for each one of us, we pray, O Lord, that we place you in the very heart of our mind.  We pray that you are the center of the hub. We pray that you are in our activities and our thoughts. We pray that we live in your constant present and eternal grace. AMEN

Dear God,      May we be people of patience.  May we quietly digest and reflect upon the  community and events that unfold around us.  May we be understanding and accepting, for we are not perfect and supreme in knowledge and wisdom. Help us to speak when necessary, to act when expedient and to be still when appropriate.  And when we need encouragement and direction, pick us up and move us forward and motivate our spirits to do likewise. AMEN

Holy Lord,    Sometimes we feel the world trembling, the rumblings of conflicts, catastrophes and pain. We long to hold the people and the land in a tight embrace, comforting  and consoling.  We know that you hear our groaning and respond in compassion and love.  As we reach out in prayer and concern you reach out in tenderness and strength, aiding and supporting; offering counsel and wisdom.  May your Spirit of Holiness continue to enrich us and empower us in loving peace. AMEN

Dear God,     The blue skies of gentle beauty lift our spirits toward you. Endless space reminds us of your limitless being and infinite sight. We peer deeply into ourselves and our mind expands with light speed, even then we can't capture you, God. How amazing that the universe can't contain you but we can find you in a baby's smile and a pansy. AMEN

Quiet Holy Lord,    May we find a moment or maybe two, in our day to sit quietly and meditate; to let the silence enfold us like a warm blanket and hear the beating of our heart in our cosmic mind.  May our thoughts flow quietly like liquid silver and our eyes be visionary....wait, is that a diamond flickering light white in the grass green?... May we sign gentle sighs of kindness and redemption  and feel the Spirit so Holy filling our souls. Balanced in the peace of a thousand glittering seconds, we arise and be. AMEN

Dear God,     If we come to you with a quiet request will you hear our plea. If we yell and shout will you suggest that we exercise self-control. If we smile and grin and try to bargain will you remind us to be honest. If we sulk and pout and mutter darkly will you put us in our room. If we stamp our foot and demand to be heard will you fold your Godly arms and stare us down????  Oh, Lord, we are humbled by our own desires and frailties and yet we do have needs. Help us, we pray, when we get in our own way. AMEN 

God of Power, Power winds and rain swept in upon us, not the Holy Spirit, but pure nature moving and sweeping. Thank you for rain and the invigorating power that comes with it. We are glad that as far as I know, no injuries were sustained, that is always a blessing. So wherever and whenever nature roars, we stand humbled and in awe. May we always be in respect at the glory and strength of this earth and in our own vulnerability. In your presence and the Spirit voice we pray. AMEN

Holy Lord, Spirit God,    We know you by many names or even, no name at all.  Sometimes you are simply a presence in the filters of our mind, resonating and whispering, vibrating and murmuring, words unspoken but thoughts received. Like a gentle wind or the sea surf, like the whispering of a hummingbird flitting or a butterfly singing, you are present in our waking and our sleeping.  Our awareness is heightened by your presence and our lives enriched by your compassion. In love, greet us  this morning with grace and light. AMEN

Holy Lord and Spirit Divine,     In your Spirit of love might we be lifted up, today and fly. Ignite our inner fire and show us our own, unique,strong, spirit and grit of determination and vision.  May the Sacred Fires burn in wisdom and dedication to the task of Holiness and earthiness. May we soar like the eagle in harmony with the elements of our world, creating  peace and balance.  AMEN

Lord God Most High,   May the Holy Spirit come and infuse us with hope and power.  May we be embraced, enriched and enabled.  May the Spirit of flames and flight empower us to lift ourselves up and leap out of the muds of time and space and become like stars, shining and radiant in the  weary darkened world. May we be so filled with your spirit that we do not tire nor tremble and our love of life flows like pure water of an eternal spring.  Creative Holy Spirit, come. AMEN

Dear God,     Slowly and gently the morning wakes. The cat purrs. the dog stretches, the baby sighs and the suns speaks of new things through the trees. We see ourselves in the reflecting pond, beginning the morning rituals.  We are mindful of this moment in time, for there is no other . Nothing exists accept this now. You, God, lay your spirit across our shoulder and claim us as your own. We pause, is that  the wind we feel? Our awareness increases and our breath hums.  It is you, our God. We smile. AMEN

Dear God,     Be with us in understanding, acceptance and patience as we are confronted with the unknown and unexpected. Help us to be open minded.  Help us to be wise and discerning.  Help us to reach out with words of gentle harmony and a touch of compassion. Help our spirits to flow gently in the winds of uncertainty and to heal in the breath of the creative spirit.  Be with us, O God, as we live each day in your name and in your grace. AMEN

Dear God,     The streets of our life are paved with uncertainty but have traffic of all sorts, anyhow.  The streets are smooth and rough, have pot-holes and bumps.  Our GPS doesn't always take us where we want to go and sometimes the streets end in dead ends.Occasionally our vehicle breaks down or we fall asleep at the wheel.  We need some help, here, God.  We need you to help us on the streets and in our vehicle. We need faith to keep on going and trust to believe in the destination. We need your Spirit of nowness, to travel with us. Thank You, God. AMEN

Dear God,    Take our minds and wake us up.  Bring us to awareness and greater insights.    Take our hearts and make us aware. Enhance our caring and compassion.    Take our will and make it yours. Show us the vision of the ages.    Take our feet and enlighten them.  Guide us on your pathway of being and wisdom. AMEN

Dear God,    Sometimes it seems as if the world is off  balance, teetering on the edge of a cliff, subject to earth tremors and variable winds. We pray for balance and stability. We pray for a spiritual, ethical truth and symmetry in thought and deed. Let humanity strive for a high standard of caring, and considerate, giving behavior with one another. Let us be balanced and harmonious in and with one another, O God. AMEN

Dear God,    The air we breathe seems filtered by the trees of green, the light of heaven floating to us in patches and waves of blue.  We pause and breathe deeply of the fluid air, filling our bodies and allowing our cells to grow and grin in the morning rush. Spirit of God, explode in the air and cleanse our souls.  Spirit of God, ignite us an lift us into holiness. AMEN

Loving Lord,    For those who are lost and alone, we pray that they might be comforted.  May a light, a candle in the window sustain them and bring them home. May they be embraced in the cabin of your love and lifted up in the magic and mystery of your spirit. May we be empowered to offer the balm of healing and the sacred touch of compassion and love. In Jesus name, we pray. AMEN
