MorningPrayer Wednesday
Dear God,
The mighty oak has fallen. It has graced our yard, a fortress of strength, shade and habitat for many long years. It has caught the early sun and crowned the departing day, but now it lies tasseled like a tumbleweed. But even still, it has energy for our world. It becomes fire, light and heat. It becomes food for the garden and a pathway in the meadow. It raises in us words of awe and thanks and praise for the beauty and wonder of nature. We say, thank you God, for this tree and for the wonder of all life. AMEN
