MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
     The play of our life is unfolding.  We are not sure what Act we are in or how much of the play is left.  It is, not as predictable as a Hallmark movie.  We do pray that we will be the best we can be and that each Scene will be acted with integrity and sincerity. Sometimes, we are not sure who is writing our play, but we believe that we are actively involved.  We also would like you to be actively involved, God. May we follow your vision and script as best we are able.  With the help of the Holy Spirit....AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
