MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,    May we have an experience of the Holy Spirit, today.  A breath of new life, a heavenly dove, a water immersion with a prayer, an experience of need or power... May we feel the uplifting rush of an eagle bearing us on wings of grace and strength.  May we realize a soothing, healing touch of angelic hands.  May we know the Word inside of us and the indwelling, abiding spirit of divine grace that comforts, sustains, guides and teaches us in new wisdom. May we know new life in your spirit. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Dear God,    Coming to you in prayer is like slipping into bed, relaxing all our muscles, letting go of thoughts, and sighing in the comfort of the sheets. Prayer is a respite and a space of renourishment. Being with you in prayer, God, restores our souls and brings new life to our spirits. Whether fatigued or filled with energy, prayer brings us into your kingdom of harmony and balance. Let us repose with you. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God,    Be with us in our sorrows and disappointments.  When our expectations are not met and we feel let down and disillusioned, refine our thoughts and support us in our grief. Temper our hopes with more realistic visions but let us not loose our ideals and dreams. May we be flexible like a palm tree and filled with the Holy Spirit which restores and renourishes our soul. We trust in the light of your grace and believe that love triumphs. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God,    In our lists of doing for the day, let the words peaceful and patience be there. Between banking and cat food may we scrawl the words  kindness and gentle. Underneath phone bill may we see understanding and acceptance. Our tasks are many, Lord, and our list is long. Help us with the truest tasks on our list and add to it the words of our greatest  need. AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Lord God,    May the threads of our life be spun into a cocoon of wholeness and purity. May each thread contribute to our growth and wellness.  May we thrive in our cocoon and emerge as a new creation of grace and love. May we celebrate and fly in joy and wonder in the mystery of life. Grow us in your light, O God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Holy Lord,   There is a circle of angels surrounding us, holding hands in a circle of light like the petals of the rose spreading out from the center. Protected and loved, we are embraced in holiness. The fresh alive fragrance of the Holy Spirit fills the air and we breathe deeply of the divine. Alive in you, God, we have no fear. We rest our selves in you, close our eyes, and know peace. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,    May your spirit of peace and holiness embrace us in gentle love this day. May we feel your healing touch and know the cool waters that refresh our bodies, mind and soul. Soothe out wounds, in the grace of your presence, bind our hurts in hope and fill us with a sacred vision of eternal happiness and joy. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Dear God, Songbirds are twirling the fabric of dawn into a symphony of rain and light. Our voices add a harmonic twist and our thoughts add a vibrato and a crescendo. We pause at a rest and contemplate the rising sun and a blast of trumpets and the blaring of a horn. "Consider, this O Human, consider what God has made and be glad in it." We dive into our day with God as our companion and carry the song of praise with us wherever we go. AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dear God,     This day, may we reach out with our minds and hearts to those who are in need; to those oppressed and persecuted, to those who are hungry and thirsty, to those who are in illegitimate chains and bonds, to those who long for justice and righteousness. It is a big prayer, O God. Larger than us.  We pray a prayer of humanity that our wounds and hurts may be healed and our longing for equality and mercy might be met. We pray....we pray. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Lord of Compassion,     In the midst of life's stressors, when we have little control, we ask that you help us to deal, handle, cope with those stressors. May we have the strength to persevere. May you take away our fears and anxieties.  May we give the stress to you and you hold it for us.  May you show us the way to be in peace and to float in the middle of the tension and frustration. May the sunlight poke through the clouds and illuminate the meadow of contentment and serenity where we might be in your joy. In your embrace we flow, O God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Laughing Jesus,      Sometimes we don't feel like laughing but if we think of you as being joyful, it helps our sadness.  Sometimes we get caught up in future fears but if we think of you as enjoying a breeze by the Sea of Galilee and holding a giggling child in your lap, we can focus on the present moment. Sometimes we don't feel like dancing, but if we see you at a wedding, kicking up your heels, then our feet might start moving. Sometimes we are too weary to pray, but if we see you getting up at 4:00 in the morning and going up on a mountain to pray, then we can shut our eyes in thanksgiving and express our needs.  Thank you for showing us the way. AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God,   For a simple everyday thing we give thanks:  For water flowing in abundance at our merest desire.  For water clean and pure and safe.  For water hot or cold. For water to drink, wash with, clean with, bathe in, play in, water the ground with, delight in, rejoice in, we give thanks. For life giving water, we rejoice. Let us pause everyday and be mindful and grateful for water which is available to us at our merest whim. Wow, God! Not so simple a thing after all. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Lord,    Hear our prayer. On eagle's wings lift us high above the horizon where we can have perspective on our life. Far below, we watch the earth unfold, a patchwork quilt of blues, browns, greens. We see the flowers of humanity flowing like rainbow threads across the  patches. We breathe the crisp air of northern currents and bathe in the warm sun of the south. We see our problems against the backdrop of the cosmic sky and feel the healing power of life ever lasting. We hear the  melody of creation sighing in the vast expanse of space and we are born anew. Your Word fills us full, O God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Questions for you God,     Is there time in the day to sit down to the paper and a mug of coffee? Is there time to eat eggs, bacon and blueberry pancakes? Is there time to watch the clouds flow and the squirrels play? Is there time to hold the baby in loving arms and watch creation form? Is there time to write a poem, pet the cat, walk the dog? Is there time to reflect upon life and do nothing? Is there time for you,God? AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Dear God,    Help us to dig deep into the soil of ourselves and find that which is already there.  For, over the ages we have been formed and we are miles deep of rich, dark sediment and layers of wealth. Help us to find the enriched soil where a young seedling is just sprouting.  Help us to dig into that patch of dark  rock where diamonds glitter and gold flows in ribbons and silver melts in the mouth. Help us to mine the growth of   brilliance, love and compassion. Help us to unearth the joy and laughter and celebrate our gifts. Thank you, God.AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dearest Lord,     Help us to stand on the mountain top of hope and clarity. Be the very ground of our being  as we lift arms of faith to you. Support us in our needs, wipe away our tears and banish our fears. Breathe in us the Holy Spirit breath as we are emptied and let go of pain and are filled in your grace and peace. In the name of Jesus, we pray. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wedensday

Image
Dear God, Sometimes it feels like the air is full of tension and stress; the cosmic orchestra is out of tune and our senses are under attack. Have we lost our way God? Is our spiritual compass confused? Help us to reorient and reconnect. We are tangled in these jumping hoops and can't get free. Nothing is going right....breathe...pray...listen...be still...slow down...let go...pray...AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
O God,    When uncertainty clouds our vision and murky mists cloud our hearts we collapse into the chair and wait for inspiration. We need your present strength to continue and  the wind of the spirit to clear our senses. We need your hand to lead us and your mind to propel us. We need a gentle but firm touch and most of all we need hope and joy. Celebrate with us, O God. Fill us with gladness. For this the cosmos that you have made and the day of your love. AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Lord of Compassion,     For those who are unable to pray for themselves, we send notes of caring and prayers of aid. For those who are feeling weak, helpless, lonely and lost, we remember you and ask God to be with you and offer you comfort and support, even as we reach out as best we can.  We pray that the Lord of Compassion will surround you with a gentle spirit and you will feel new energy and life. May your cells fill with hope and your blood flow with new vision and your mind clear and be of peace. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear God,    Let us find a sanctuary of your presence this morning; a pew of silence, a meadow of quiet, a pond of stillness a river of solemnity, a garden of gentleness a chair of repose. May we retreat from the clutter and clamor into the Word of harmony and loving prayer. May our meditations be of simplicity as our spirit delights and our soul is renewed. May we know the peace of your ultimate being as you call us by name and hold us in the palm of your hand. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God, Sometimes it seems like we are standing in the roundabout of a busy highway; surrounded by constant noise and incessant problems and events speeding toward us and around us. It is hard to think and respond and keep our minds intact. We need the calm and repose of the spirit. Help us to be still and find a spiritual pathway of prayer and quiet reflection. Help us to move away from the roundabout of confusion onto the mountain top of serenity. Refreshed, renewed and filled we will find our way through the confusion. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Hi God, We have been wondering about evil. Is there intrinsic, deep-seated evil in the world? Evil that like a foul smell just floats and burns its way into the fabric of our world, sometimes in small scarcely visible ways and sometimes in large earth shattering ways? And if so... is the power of good and the love of you, larger and more powerful and beautiful like sweet scented roses filling the air, cleansing and purifying? Yes. We believe your loving grace to be more powerful and the vision of existence. We see in our faith, the light of infinite love as found in the compassionate Jesus. We hold this truth in our hearts. Thank You. AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dear God, In the infinite pause between heart beats we hear the sound of the universe being born. We observe the heavens and delight in stars birthing. We contemplate the earth in its flowing, rolling mass of blues, greens, whites and browns and scatter rainbow colors with a flick of our hand. We peer deeply into the reflecting pool of eternal youth and see babies first breath and ancient ones at rest. We ride the currents of the divine wind, exploring sacred places, roaring like a lion and whispering like a butterfly. We are reignited, reborn, renewed from moment to moment in the cosmic heart beat, the holy breath of you, our eternal source and God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God, Take us and mold us. Hold our potential in your hands and help us to be as full as we can. Not perfect, but complete and whole. May we be all we can be and do all we can do. May the opportunities of the day be blessings of good will and gifts of creative joy. May our blemishes be soothed and smoothed. May we be a living prayer of infinite and eternal grace. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God, Thank you for the special people in our life who give our lives meaning and substance. For their caring, sharing and compassionate grace we are grateful. How empty our world would be without them. Look after our loved ones; guard and protect them, keeping them safe from harm. In laughter, in joy, and with a fair warm breeze may we celebrate.

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God, When our world goes dark and grim as it sometimes does, we pray that you will be with us, giving us light and hope so we don't loose our way. When our pain is overwhelming and we long for release, we pray you will hold us and tend to us and heal our wounds. When the best we can manage is to lie down and only breathe we pray the angels support us, rock us in gossamer wings and sing lullabies. We pray in the eternal name of the Christ of great compassion.AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Lord God, May the sunbursts of creation sparkle within us. May our cells tingle in the dancing lights and our blood flow like lava. May we be saturated in the bubbling hum of the cosmic furnace as the dancing winds of the spirit whistle through us. May we be awake, aware and alive in your eternal embrace of life. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,     Sometimes our hopes and dreams are scattered about the rooms of our mind in boxes and bins and folders. We have lost our direction and rearrange rather than engage. Help us to organize and embrace the dreams. Help us to find purpose in the vision and find your will in these boxes. May your energy and spirit fill us as we analyze, reflect and restructure. We take a deep Holy breath and know.  AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Dear God, We are so many, us humans. Caught in a maze of streets, homes, cars, the needs for life and the plans and daily events of living, we plod from birth to death. What are we, O God, that you are mindful of us? And are we also, mindful of you? Let us stop and give thanks and love the simple story of existence. May we see the blade of grass and be mindful of the blazing star. AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dear God,    As we walk our day of known and unknown, may you balance us in wisdom and decision; the wisdom to see below the surface and the knowledge to make choices of integrity and truth. We pray that our walk, always, be made in the spotlight of your presence. AMEN
