MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God,    May we pause in the glow of the morning and recognize the divine spark in all things and all space. May we live our day in the sacred light of the creator and not in a dull attitude of space as profane and mundane.    Bring us today, God, into your joy where we can celebrate. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God,      Sometimes our minds are cloudy like the mists of morning; we can't see clearly, sounds are distorted and our thoughts are like fragments of filmy fog. Please lift the fog, give us clarity, and with sharpened senses and visible truth let us live this day in the deepest reflection and action of wisdom and love.AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear God,    For this day, we give thanks.  In the overpowering fragrance of new life and the explosion of rainbow colors we  are embraced by enormous possibilities . Our senses are exploding, our mind racing, our very being enhanced in the wonder of the new day. In deep gratitude for life, this precious treasure and gift we bow our heads in amazement. Speak to us the Word of creation's becoming and hold us in the palm of your hand. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,    In the midst of life's routines and mundane cycles, we are often surprised by the unexpected and unanticipated. Perhaps, a bursting brilliant sunset, a new rose blossoming, a sudden laugh or smile.  Perhaps, an event tragic and sad. Perhaps a new birth a sudden death a thought that blooms into action.  Whatever and wherever these occur, we look to you, our Lord and God, to assist us and move with us through the verities and perplexities of life. Thanks you, God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Dear God,     We  live  in the light even though it might seem dark.  We live in the belief that you care for us.   We live in trust that you are with us, always.  We live in faith that  you are holding us. We live in love even though we might feel alone. We live in you, always and forever. AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Lord Almighty,   Lift us up on Eagle's wings and be our vision. Soar us to new heights of understanding with the piercing all seeing eyes of ancient wisdom. As the rivers of the land flow like veins of life across the earth, may we know all humanity as the cells of one body and one heartbeat. AMEN

MoringPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God,      Floating in the bosom of life; we see ancient star dust speckled across our skin. We smell the salt of sea foam and taste the loam of earth. We feel the wind of earth pulsing in our veins and we proclaim that life is good. O God, your spirit resides in us and our birth proclaims your love. May we be beautifiers of the earth as we live in your grace. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God,     Sometimes our legs are tired; this walk is long and hard and we need a fresh infusion of energy and strength. We look to you to inject us with a living dose of the Spirit and to become in us a gushing spring of living water. Flow into is, God, and fill all our cells full to overflowing. Let us not be weary or faint but walk in the faith of mountain movers. AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God,     Let us live in the light of your smile and your loving laughter.  May we be filled with your mirth and saturated in your grace. As Easter people, might we move forward in renewed truth and hope.  In the garden of your delight might we be co-creators with you and fill space with the Holy Spirit of sacred breath. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear Lord Most High,    We sing, "Christ the Lord is Risen Today, Alleluia, Alleluia". We lift up our hearts and voices in praise and thanksgiving. We receive the fresh sun on our upturned faces and we breathe a born again sigh.  Out of darkness and despair we have arrived at a new dawning of hope. Life doesn't just turn like a wheel, but it is re birthed  over and over again. Thank you God for giving us life and hope when we have lost our way. Christ name we raise, AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,     Black Saturday was a day of despair for the disciples of Jesus. A time of mourning, weeping and wailing. We sometimes have these days of darkness when we also say, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"  It is then that we throw ourselves into your arms because we can no longer stand on our own. Hold us, O God, until the morning comes, for we know that light shines upon a stone that is rolled away and our fears and pains will rise like the morning dew. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
O God,     Good Friday!  The Garden of sweat and tears is behind us, now. Sometimes we must crawl through despair,  in order to find salvation. We remember, we are told about this story of pain and suffering, doubt and darkness. But we know, that behind the thundering clouds and the tremors of earth, rise a new dawn and new hope and new life. We know that you not only wait for us at the end of the path, but you are with us on that path. Thank you God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dear God,    In health and in sickness. In good times and in bad.  When we are down and when we are up. In sun in rain in cold in warmth, when the tide is out and when it is in.  In all times of our coming and going, and the seasons of our life from infant to elderly... Let us confess thee to be our Lord and God In whom we give thanks, give praise and acknowledge as perfector and counselor of our life. We are humbled. AMEN NOTE: I was sick yesterday and unable to offer a morning prayer.

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God,    May our prayers  be for peace and harmony.  May we stand against injustice and oppression.  May we stand against intolerance and oppression.  May we stand for uniqueness and understanding.  For those  things we cannot change, may we exercise wisdom and  faith.  For those things we can change may we utilize compassion and tenderness. May we be ever mindful of your world of diversity and extremes in beauty, O God.

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God,    Our Holy week journey has begun. May our senses be on high alert as we receive  impulses of the spirit and travel the week of prayer and reflection.  Let us walk in beauty, harmony and hope.  May our eyes be clear and our vision deep enough to see divine truths and revelations of God's love. In the well of sacred worth let us drink and be filled full to overflowing. AMEN

MningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear God,    In the mystery and power of the universe, we seem to play but a small part.  Our breath is but a whisper but that whisper melts ice and cold hearts  That breath changes the course of nations and raises the dead. The breath plants the crops, nourishes growth and brings in the harvest. The smallest breath of new life, the infant singing its first sigh, changes the course of humanity. Thank you God for the breath of celebration and profound love. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Lord Almighty,    The music of the morning sometimes picks us up, pulsing, pushing-- rushing us forward headlong into a day of clanging cymbals, beating drums and taut strings throbbing and screaming. Too much we shout into the din.  Help us to push the off button and then lead us into pastures green and  waters still.  The meadow holds us and nourished, nurtured and loved we walk into the forest and find our way. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Lord,    Sometimes we are so weary we can hardly hold your name in our mind. Our thoughts melt like hot butter and our actions are tangled in thickets of thorns.  Place us in the palm of your hand under the desert sky. Let the sun rise in the dry calm air and  hold us in a sacred embrace. Remind us that we are born of you and give us wisdom and courage. Breathe into us the spirit breath of the ancient stars and whisper us your name of holiness. You are life-giver, O Lord and God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dear Lord,    Glory! Praise! Thanks!  We lift up our eyes and see into infinity, the beginning of time. We look into the heart of God and hear the cosmic roar and feel the breath of creation exploding. Our tears flow in amazement and mingle with the hot salt of the cosmic waters. Our chemicals burn within us as we are born from stardust and turned into the image of God. We fall on our faces and kiss the dust of earth and murmur words of thanksgiving.  We are awakened , we are alive. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God,    The last tendrils of darkness are fleeing into the valleys and hiding in corners.  The light of your dawning brings truth, color and resolution to even the blackest of holes. Like the meadows of morning, we pray that our minds open up and that your light fills the hollows and gaps of our soul. In your presence might we know and see wisdom made pure and whole. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Holy Lord,    May we see your face today. May we see the Christ in all we meet; in the teacher and the student. In the clerk and the banker. In the street person and in the  professional. In the mother and the father. May we see the shining face of the Christ who has needs, offers service, cares for others.  May we know the Christ in each person who is trying to survive, do their best, motivated by unseen unknown principles and desires.  And, may we be Christ like  in ourselves. Striving to be the best we are capable of being, AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God,     May we be true to ourselves.  May we find our true voice and not be like Mocking bird who speaks the song of many.   Sometimes, like Hummingbird we beat our wings furiously to stay in place and we exhaust ourselves. May we be allowed to soar quietly on broad wing like Eagle and find peace and serenity. May we occasionally flash brilliantly like Cardinal or sometimes disappear into a bush like Sparrow. May we always be loving like Angel and speak in God voice of compassion and wisdom. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear God,    Just as the wailing wall holds the prayers of millions, so does the sanctuary become the healing place.  We wander into this place of your presence, sometimes broken and torn.  We ask for healing waters and for spiritual food that will mend and heal.  We ask to be bathed in light and love and for the flesh of our heart and soul to be filled. We pray to find the sanctuary and to quietly enter. We pray for the nurture you offer in our mourning and our brokenness. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,    In this time and in this space, we are placed and given our opportunity. There is so much we didn't choose but yet, here we are, anyway. And yet, there are many choices we can make, so we pray to you, that we make the-- right, good, best-- choices and that in our prayer, we say, "Your will  be done." In our choices of direction, may we make choices of attitude and  purpose that surely, embody the spirit of the living Christ; compassion, love, discipline, dedication... Hear our prayer, O God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Dear God,    In gratitude let us be aware, awake and filled.  May thankfulness fill our hearts just as budding flowers scent the air. As spring rain cleanses and brings new life may we recognize the bounteous gifts of creation.  May   the treasure chests of our spirit flow in abundant joy as or cup runs over and we are satisfied, once again, in the goodness of life. Thank you, God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dear Lord,    Help us to live in the in-between time. The time of unknown, uncertainty, doubt and transition. The space between here and there, now and then, going and coming,  fear and  bravery, yes and no... Increase our faith so we might endure and float with grace on the river of in-between. Give us words of prayer;   "Help us God, in your will and way, help my  unbelief, I  believe..." so we might live in the sacred space of holiness. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God,    Out of darkness lift us.  Before the window of morning light, the rushing of a new day, let us sit and be still. In deep, long full breaths may we absorb the earth and sky. How  can we be holy if we do not perceive holiness? How can we be holy if we do not eat, drink, breathe and feel the sinews of creation winding through us, becoming us? May we be holy, O God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God,    Awaken within us our dormant spirit. Speak to us the birthing word so we might grow and feel the power of the divine coursing through our veins. Born out of mud and water, let us feel the sacred spark that ignites our flesh and breath so we might sing the compassion song of the cosmic Christ. May our trembling nerves be replaced with singing vessels of God, alive in us. AMEN
