MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God,    The attics of our minds hold boxes, bins, chests, scrap books  and scattered remnants of our past.  Tucked under the eaves are precious memories and hopes and dreams, some fulfilled, some forgotten some still visions of life. We ask that you help us to clear the clutter of the past so it will not interfere with our present.  May we learn from those remnants so that our future might be scrap book worthy. Help us to grow in purity and clarity, O God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear God,    The black silken skies have carried us through the night, riding ancient starlight of wandering nomads, flying pigs and loved ones floating in and out of amber kitchens.  We arrive in the morning light to the rooster crowing and the rich smell of coffee brewing. Thank you, God for the safe passage and the morning fresh and new.  Thank you, God, for the opportunities.  May you unleash our potential so the Kingdom might come in glory and love. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,    In the mirror we see dimly who we are; uneven images of our deeper self.  Help us to see below the shining reflection into the heart of our being.  Help us to see our mind resonating and vibrating in the ceaseless breathing of the cosmos.  Just as a diver knifes into the ocean depths in search for pearls, may we plunge deeper into our breathless spirit and eternal soul and find the truest expression of ourselves; the pearl of God's being nestled in us. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Lord Almighty,    Light streams like crystal sabers igniting pools of gold on the forest floor.  The west wind dances joyfully with her brother in the blazing earth while angels sing and laugh like distant birds calling out the morning hour.  The magic has dawned and speaks our name. "Come, come and live the day with me."  In the mystery of the morning we awake and call out to our God, "We are coming, lead us and hold our hand. We are coming into your earthly Kingdom, today." AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dear God,    In the midst of our blessings and comforts which many of us have, we ask for peace of mind and heart.  In the midst of love and soul spirits who soar with us in the heavens we ask for loving compassion for all people.  In the midst of our convictions and beliefs we ask for understanding of other souls. As a member of the human race, we ask that other people attempt to live in peace with one another, do not force their convictions and  beliefs on others and refrain from greed, violence, hatred and bitterness.  Yes, God, we live, many of us in comfort and blessings, and we pray for our world and its people. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God,    This day, in gratitude, we lift up in thanks.  For individuals in need we pray for their comfort. For nations in conflict we pray for their healing. For our earth in spinning, we pray for health.  We pray that darkness will disappear into light and evil will fall away to good. We pray that humanity will continually turn towards the blessings of God and find the beauty, truth and harmony of eternity, now. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Wow God,    The days and nights have been clear, a burning bright sun melting the blue sky and thousands of light dots floating in the black sky.  Have we  paused? Have we seen? Have we been overwhelmed in awe? Let us take the time to gaze and leap from the earth and soar in the wowness of the heavens. May the clarity of light illuminate our mind and fill us full of grace. Truly, truly, truly, what do we pay attention to, and why? AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God,    The dog whines, the cat leaps, the crows caw.  The TV blares; different people different places, same events. How do you kick a soccer ball or two or three at the same time?  The sun rises the day begins. Open your eyes, get up, get going.  God, some days we need more help facing the "replay button" of our life. Give us a break something new, different, but good. Yes,  let us see the face of Jesus sitting next to us on the bus. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear God,    The faces of the saints and of our ancestors look at us from a thousand points of light.  Our minds are wired with flashing memories  and we surround ourselves with images of love. We are not alone.  We are immersed in faith with the prayers and assurances of our loved ones encouraging and supporting our souls on their journey.  We are not alone.  We are wired and connected with all of life as pulsing spir itual energy, embracing us in eternal love. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,     Balance and the cleansing breath.  The breath that  flows deeply into and from our abdomen and washes our mind clean. Hold that moment...of emptiness...of fullness.  Whether we are in a storm that threatens life or in a calm meadow filled with butterflies, we need to pause... breathe...balance ourselves. Help us keep harmony and clarity of mind and spirit. Help us to not forget the gratitude of the breath and the balance of grace. Keep us mindful of the Creator God of our life. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Dear God,    In our prayers may new life be created and may old life be transformed.  May we be co-creators with you in a vision of justice and righteousness that builds opportunities of equality and justice.  May we til the garden of oppression and persecution and tend the poor and depressed in equity and love. May our prayers be filled with energy and flow through your grace across the world in power and love. AMEN Eastern Turkey, the old Silk Route in background

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dear God,    May serenity like whispering clouds drift across the landscape of our lives. May we see the wisps of floating dreams and hear the sounds of laughing visions.  May the clear air  of hope be crisp and clear and fill us full of renewed vigor. May your presence be the wonder and mystery of eternal peace and the bliss of joy, O God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God    We pray for those who suffer loss through flooding and other natural disasters and those who suffer loss through violence of human doing.  We reach out with hearts of caring and compassion and pray for strength and love to support those who have need. We pray that we, in our communities might be agents of peace and caring and share the best of pure thought and your grace to all we meet. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Lord God,    If the clash of a cymbal shatters my silence, may the angels with harps gentle my nerves.  If I loose my balance and stumble and fall may the angels catch me on hovering wings. If I can't catch my breath because of anxiety and stress, may the angels breathe gentle prayers into my heart and bring me into silence and quiet faith. In other words, in a normal typical day, might we live in our faith and belief and trust God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God,    Some days meander like a stream down a mountain, jogging left then right then around a boulder or over a hump. It feels like the stream will go where it will, we have little control.  We pray that the water will be freshened with the living spirit and that we will have vision about where we have been and see where we are going. Today, might we enjoy the journey and be alive in the interplay between stream and mountain. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Lord God,   We believe you are a God of compassion, mercy and love.  We believe we are made in your image but have been misled by false images of greed, power and doctrine.  We hunger and thirst for the righteousness of your justice and to live fully in your grace.  Be with all your people, everywhere and deliver us from the yoke of ignorance and the sins of false images. May we live in the divine light in purity and delight. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,    The trees of our beliefs stand tall, bare boned pillars of faith that you have revealed to us in the light of simplicity and mystery. Sometimes the mist of uncertainty cloud our vision but the trunks still stand and we can touch them and lean against their elegance, beauty and truth.  Thank you, God, for gifting us with the vibrancy of a living faith. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Dear God,    If it is hardships or difficulties we are given, may we have the will to endure and be strengthened in the flame.  If we are overcome by the fire, carry us through and then bring us back to health in compassion and love.  May our struggle be one for purity as we learn to let go and in wisdom attain new heights of spiritual grace.  In Jesus name we pray. AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dear God,   As we walk this day of responsibility and commitment, opening and shutting the same doors of our week, may we do so with fresh eyes and ears.  May we see light reflecting off the filaments of spider webs we push aside. May we hear music in the casual sounds of the street flowing around us. May our heartbeat, our breath and our footsteps be a walk of beauty, harmony and balance.  In the midst of the ordinary and mundane, might we be lifted into the awareness of your divine smile and joy. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God,    Be with those who struggle in illness,  distress or dis-ease. Help to bring them back to wellness for there is a deep inner desire to be whole and healthy.  Be with those who offer the healing touch of word or procedure, might they be guided by the cosmic touch of your guiding energy.  Out of the mists of the unknown and uncertainty might we live in the light of eternal love and infinite grace. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God,    (pause)...(breathe)...let go of words....    Opening the shutters of ourselves.     The darkness flees and the light spills in.     (pause)...(breathe)...opening still...     Prayers of the saints swaying like soaring butterflies flow through the shutters and cloak us in the shimmering radiance of hope and new life.  The breath of God blows away the darkness slinking in the corners and lifted up in new possibility,  we enter the day.     (pause)...(breathe)...AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God,    We look around and who do we see?  A diversity  of people  going about their day, each in their own way with their own needs and designs. We don't know what they are thinking or feeling.  We look around and what do we see? A landscape that is filled with signs of both culture and nature. Sometimes we feel we are in the Matrix or Truman's world or in a Dostoevsky novel. It is easy to be overwhelmed or to be numbed. It is easy to be  blind or go on automatic pilot and to walk zombie like through the day. Prick us with the pin of awareness and caring, reflection and prayer so we might better know and understand and participate in our world. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Lord God,    Early morning light is flowing like spilled milk across the floor of the sky.  We slowly awaken and greet the day with a whisper of wonder or a murmur and a moan.  Soon, we are saturated with light and we fill ourselves with prayer, the blood flowing like a river of living Holy water.  Spill our life on the earth  so we might be living sacrifices of your love, O God. May a garden of peace and paradise grow where we have been anointed and overflow. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,     Today, may we bring smiles and a positive greeting into the community. May our presence be uplifting and a song and a dance of gentle harmony and trust. May we leave behind us ripples of hope and happiness . May the light of your love be reflected in the spirit of our attitude and behavior.  We know, O God, that a smile and a nice word are small, simple things, but can be big in affect. Help us to be of caring and compassion, AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Dear God,    Who is that sitting in the chair, sipping coffee, eyes closed, listening to the cat?  Is that me looking up, a slightly distorted reflection, a memory of ancient times? Where did that vision of sand flowing over the cliff and falling into the stars come from?  Has  this new day that has never been before in linear time circled back again for the hundredth time?...my alarm clock said 5:05 all night.  I know, occasionally we are a bit disjointed and comfabulated.  Help us up, God. Get us going. We can do this. Let the day begin. 5:06.  AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Lord God, In your love and grace let me rest. May my inactivity be a time of prayerful preparation for living in your name. May my activity be dedicated to your will and your way. Take my spirit and transform me from self serving to your service. In your love and grace let me thrive.  AMEN                                                         Totem picture from Switzerland

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Lord God,    May the early morning hush be with us in the quiet spaces of our heart throughout the  course of this day. In the clamor and the noise, the confusion and the flurry, may we know the space of silence from which we can see and hear the world unfolding. Held within the Holiness of prayer, might we know serenity. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God,   They tell me there was a huge storm last night. Lightning, thunder, rain. Earth shattering and leaf shaking. Somehow, I missed it. Slept through it. Didn't hear, didn't see, didn't know. Mmm...I wonder what else I miss in life?  What happens around me with other people that I miss or miss-perceive? What happens in the world that I miss, ignore or am indifferent to? Help me, O God, to hear and see and know those things that are important. Help me to not be indifferent  to the faces, events and world around me. Help me to interact and to participate in the world in the manner of Jesus who cared with deep compassion for his world and people. AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Creator Cosmic God,    Sometimes we can be a bit mysterious, mystical, magical; we want to tune in to the collective unconscious of the universe.  We want to feel the pulse of people everywhere and connect to the emotional energy of other spirits.  We want to feel the longings and deep personal drives of mothers and fathers in their cries for peace, comfort, happiness and freedom.  We want to  feel the vibrations, hear the sounds and see the flowing light of our common souls mingling and meeting. We want to be one  humanity, all in all, and yet unique and diverse. Help us, O God, to be, to be, to  be... AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear God,    If we were an eagle  we would see threads of blue and pools of light reflecting the heavens.  We would see mountain tops and fields of yellow, gold, brown and green. We would see the avenues and roads of life from beginning to end and know which pathway to take. We would soar and spiral in the clouds of knowing and never make a bad decision, because we would be like you, our God, who sees all things and knows all things.  But we don't soar so high and know so much, so we must walk the pathways of life carefully and faithfully.  We ask that as we walk, you will soar with us and guide us and guard us and hold our hand when we are uncertain or lost. Our song of faith is this, "We trust in you, our Lord and God." AMEN
