MorningPrayer

Lord,      Open up the cavity of our chest until it expands like the milky way flowing across the heavens.  May our breath be like the solar wind, racing past stars, tumbling through the asteroids and leaping black holes. May we leap frog over galaxies and laugh the praise of life and love.  May we be born again in a starburst and land in a heavenly universe of new birthing. May your name be etched on our hearts  forever. AMEN

Dear God,       Sometimes our nerves are frayed and torn; like the teeth of a comb pulled across the blackboard. We clench our teeth and try to be patient.  Help us, God.  May we be soothed by the whisper of your presence, by the singing of the angels, by the murmur of the Holy Spirit. Help us to step away from ourselves and be still in the midst of the irritation.  May life be made smooth and stressful situations resolved. AMEN

Dear God,     Moving mountains is arduous work, and yet with your help and in your grace it must be possible.  We ask for assistance in moving the mountains of poverty and injustice.  We need your breath and hand to help us in the landslides of soothing people's nerves and hearts.  We need wisdom to move the mountains required for peace and reconciliation.  So, God, we will pray as hard as we can, but in you  we put our trust and faith to move those mountains. AMEN

Holy God,   In peace let us be:       as a floating leaf is to the air in which it drifts.       as a yawn is to a sigh.       as a cat is to a purr.       as a  rainbow  is to the sun and rain       as a breath is to the heartbeat       as a wish is to a prayer In peace let us be. AMEN

Dear God,     Thank you for inviting us into a life of service to one another.  As servants, we offer kindness, compassion, caring forgiveness and are truly blessed.  Help us to continue to see the Christ in each other and to care for the unspoken hurts and needs of our family, friends and community. May our day be a living prayer. AMEN

Dear God,     Help us to remember that the outside world doesn't tell us who we are.     May we have clear vision of our inner self.     In our self image may we be the reflection of your spirit.     May our guide for happiness be the measure of our loving spirit, filled from within. Dear God, in you may we be whole. AMEN

Dear God,    In the midst of noise, confusion, activity and energy output equal to the sun we launch our solar self into the day, absorbing sunspots and gamma rays. Our electrons buzz in excitement as we burn a trail of atomic vapor, leaving planets of accomplishment in our wake and playing leap frog with asteroids... and then, we pause. We reflect. We stop and meditate on our being and on our God. To you, God, we owe the thanks and praise for this day, our universe and our actions. AMEN

Dear God,      We are so many and so different in our lifestyles, cultures, circumstances, gifts  and needs.  May we be at peace in our  selves whether we be traveling, sitting, healing, swimming working or playing. May we find the ways to peace between ourselves, sitting at the table of blessing and sharing the cup of forgiveness. God, life is precious, may we not waste it or squander that which we have in useless attitudes and behaviors AMEN

Dear God,     We are gripped in this state of being, called, life.  It holds us tenaciously and bids us to sprint the earth's surface spiraling and leaping. We flow like streams sharing the mountain with older rivers and newer trickles of life, running our course in joy and sorrow until we flow into the ocean of eternity. Ah God, for this gift of life, we praise you and give you thanks.  We are in awe for this moment in time, bowing our head in wonder and lifting our hands in amazement.  We are overcome. AMEN

Dear God,     So still is the morning; embracing itself quietly, so as not to waken the angels. The light sifting through the leaves mingles with the dew.  Fog raises her head and peers into the hearts and minds of us all.  Flowing gently, you support us in our morning walk.  Your breath is like coffee and wild flower. An early rising fawn nuzzles our hand, licking salt. Serenity, sings an awakened angel. Tranquility, chirps a bird. Be still, whispers the earth and know I am God. AMEN

Dear God,     To pray for peace in our world, means to change the minds and beliefs of many. Do we have that right? Do you have that power? Is there a will and energy to achieve peace? We pray that we are right in our knowledge that you would break the spear and end wars.  This is your desire, we believe, and as we look at the world, at the devastation, pain, suffering and displacement of people... we know that to pray for peace is the right thing to do.  Let war be no more, God. Hear our prayer. AMEN

Dear God,     The day slides into action, wrapping arms of light around us.  We are lifted to our feet on the tendrils of responsibility and freshened and spruced for the days needs.  Perhaps, we will find the silver lining in the spirit of a stranger and re-see the golden edge of love and joy in our family. Perhaps our own short comings or guilt will wash away like a dark stain, bleached by the light of new hope and vision.  May it be so-- that your infinite love and eternal grace will embrace us, wholly and completely. AMEN

Dear God,   Hold us when we walk through the unknown. When we are filled with fears and the chaos of life threatens to overwhelm us, be for us a safe refuge. We trust in you, O God, in your love and compassion for us. Hear our prayer that we breathe slowly and gently. Hear our prayer that we whisper with a hushed mind. Hear our prayer that we sigh. AMEN

Dear God,    The days flee by like an early September wind pushing the August heat out of the way.  May the winds blow away the falseness in our life and the fears and pains.  May fresh new scents fill our mind in the new days ahead. Help us to not be blown away but to cling fast to beliefs and faith that are a refuge in times of trouble.  May we be still in the rushing tumult and know peace of heart and mind. AMEN

Dear God,     Sometimes, like a rough woolen blanket or a charred piece of wood, our nerves feel tattered and torn. Voices, laughter, the cat scratching the couch rise our blood pressure and tingle our teeth...  Sometimes... It is then that we need the faith that heals, the breath that inspires, the Spirit wind that cools our minds and hearts. We need soothing, God.  We pray the prayer of healing and murmur the angel sounds of harp and light. Flow grace around us like a cool linen blanket of love. AMEN

Creator God,      How long has humanity been around, thinking, creating growing doing, being? Have we gotten any wiser over the centuries?  Are we more kind and compassionate toward one another?  Have we found better ways to relate to one another and prosper in each others' company? The frustration is that we must relearn, every generation, or so it seems, the acts of humanity that are of kindness and peace. We pray that you will give us a spiritual renewal and a leap forward in wisdom, so that we will find a better way to be human and live with one another. AMEN

Dear God,    In the beauty of the day, let us pause and refresh ourselves.  Let us drink deeply of the colors of creation and feed our souls in the wonder of light dancing across the faces of our mind.  Let us saturate ourselves in the mystery of love and immerse our selves in the wisdom of the ages. May we be of your grace, God, in the living of our lives and may the drama of our spirits be Holy and Sacred. AMEN

Dear God,     Help us to plan for our future in the thinking and prayers of the present.  May our attitude be both positive and beautiful as we create a reality of hope and joy. May we be gentle and loving, kind and reflective in our relationships and concerns. In you, God, may we loose our anxiety and live with vitality and peace. AMEN

Holy Lord,     May we be ready for this day. Like a horse  before the race, will our training suffice for the course before us. May the fiber of our bones be strong and flexible and the neurons of our mind fire sharp and true. May our spirits be determined and understanding and our soul live its true self. May our entire being be of prayer without ceasing and our joy and peace be grace-filled. AMEN

Dear God,      In the changing, twisting, twirling, turning events of life, is anything different or is it all the same. Keep, O God, our head from spinning so we don't fall down as we bounce on the trampoline of old and new.  Help us to stay balanced and in harmony. Help us to walk the path in beauty, trusting that our inner spirit is being guided by your Holy Spirit. Our hearts are beating, our breath is singing. AMEN

Dear God,     Starred skies have given way to fleeced clouds, painted on blue. Brave trees shake tired leaves of green, a whispered hush in the morning silence. Awaken, they say. Awaken to the hopes and possibilities of the day. Enter into the day that the Lord has made. Be alive and aware as the world is large. AMEN

Dear God,      Sometimes we get to the end of the week, tired, sore, weary and in need of a rest.  On this Sabbath day, may we abstain from our labors of body and mind and rest our souls in you.  Give us, we pray, the bread and water that renourishes, replenishes and renews. Soothe our tangled nerves and jangled synapses. Heal our tired muscles and wash away our fatigue.  Grab our hand and help us to walk on water as we lift our eyes to the rising sun and proclaim, Yes!. We live in a life of infinite Grace and eternal Love. AMEN

Oh God,     Sometimes we walk in the shadows of our minds, our own thoughts dark and blurred. Like scraps of paper blown in the wind our memories and visions flit about twisted and sinister. We need the fresh breath of the Holy Spirit to fill our heart and the light of your love to cleanse our mind. Open us up to the illuminating light of a new dawning of life and openness. Saturate us in grace. AMEN

Dear God,  Consider truth: all things flow from you in the cosmic wave, and is the ground of our being.  Consider beauty: the essence of the universe and the feast for our soul that nurtures and nourishes.  Consider harmony: the song and dance that connects all to one and one to all.  Consider Us, O God: may we live in the truth, beauty and harmony of life and love. AMEN

Dear God,     May we receive strength for the day.  May we receive stamina to endure and courage for tasks.  May we receive understanding of situations and acceptance of the unknown.  May we be guided and led by the Holy Spirit in the landscape before us, and renewed in our own inner landscape, the spirit of our being.  Hear our prayer, O Lord, AMEN
