MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,    In our complex world, we sometimes long for simplicity, for clear concise solutions to simple issues. We long for clarity and eagle eye vision, that discerns shapes and forms and understands light and dark shapes. We pray for your discernment, God, that will help us to see and know. Help us to keep it simple, or maybe, nothing more than simplex. In the name of the Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer, we pray. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Creator God,      The orange splash caught my eye as the Robin fluttered from branch to branch. Perhaps, confused as we sometimes are, as to why the ground, frozen hard, yielded no worms.  Is not the earth abundant, full of grace and our Creator merciful?  Surely, there is enough for everyone, and our resources are to be shared. Surely, if we are gentle caretakers of our planet and one another, then beauty and truth will comprise our Kingdom and we will be saturated in harmony as we coexist with one another.  Is there not meaning in morning light and in creation's promise? AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Holy Lord,    Lift us up to a high place of thought and mood. Take away our sadness and empty our tear cups. Soothe our troubled spirits with oils of comfort and garlands of new hope and promise.  For we long to return to the joys of our youth and the wonder of mystery and adventure.  In you, O God, we profess our love and witness to the creative potential in our spirit and wellspring of growth.  In gratitude we kneel in grace. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God,    There is snow in the driveway, ice on the walkway, dust on the furniture, dishes in the sink, clothes in the hamper, papers in the inbox, calls to be made, bills to be paid, exercises to do, thoughts to think and therefore, help us to pause and do nothing. Yes! Help us to be still, to empty our minds, and fill our hearts with your presence. May we hear the angels singing and feel the brush of angel wings. May we center ourselves in your spirit and know your love as we live in your grace. Hear our prayer, AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God,   Chasing rainbows is a hazardous occupation, not in chasing gold but in pursuing goodness.  May our eyes and heart chase loving kindness in spite of clouds that obscure and winds that blow. In humility might we reach for vivid colors of light and clasp shining love to our chests as we laugh at the darkness and chaos. Why have we come? Why are we here? We proclaim that we are here to love the light and push away the darkness. We grasp your garment, God, and reach for the Sacred Kingdom. AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God,    Thank you for this day and the gifts it brings. May we pause in appreciation at the beauty and goodness that comes our way.  May we be overwhelmed by love, constant and spontaneous. May we have clarity in our seeing, knowing and doing and if not, may there be gentleness in our loved ones and friends. Help us to shine in truth and harmony, casting light of your grace into our world. Prayerfully we speak. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear God,      Sometimes we slip and slide our way through the day.  We struggle for firm footing, but ungracefully fall. We learn slowly to wait for a firm foundation so we can walk in the confidence of faith.  We pray for safety in our falling and healing in our falls.  We know life is a tricky business but ask for your love and grace to see us through.  Hold our hand, O God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,     In the universe of endlessness is love like gravity, invisible but powerfully affecting all of matter?  Does love flow through our cells like a solar wind warping planets and slicing atoms into bits?  Can we with bits and pieces of love live gracefully and in holiness? May love be our answer and meaning to eternity and infinity. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Dear God,     Help us to analyze our priorities and behaviors.  Help us to find a simple way through the maze, ice and snow. May we  pause ; stopping the running and the doing. May we be  patient ; quietly being, while unfolding events occur. May we be  perceptive ; seeing, hearing, sensing our world around us. May we  participate ; be pro-active when possible and necessary. May we  pray ; to help us be centered and invite God into our lives. Herein, may our potential be part of the possibility and plan of our life. AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dear God,      Like snowflakes, we flutter into life, unique and diverse.  Unlike snowflakes, we seek truth and meaning.  We seek contribution and purpose. We desire more than littering the roadways with our bodies and wasted lives.  We desire that which is lasting and creative and connected to the divine. So God, hear our prayer. Fill our gaps with meaning and your love and grace. In you and in our creative expression of love and peaceful, joyful, gentle living we find  truth. In Jesus name, we pray. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God,    Your morning light wraps gently through tall trees, browses over hills and coats snowflakes in vivid colors. The dawning of the day offers new promise and mystery in this cycle of our life.  Perhaps, today is a day of gentle reflection, an Ash Wednesday of sorrow and smiles mixed together in the light of dawn.  We tremble, along with you God, (who surely must tremble and weep) over the terror that is carried out in your name.  Yes, we dip our foreheads into ashes of pain over humanities losses and your suffering.  Help us to find the way to enjoy the day of hope in the midst of trembling. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God,    This play of our lives continues to unfold on the stage of life; sometimes drama, mystery, comedy or suspense. Sometimes  the plot twists to fantasy or scifi and we plunge down the rabbit hole or are hurled through black holes. But whether in our weeping, skulking, laughing, shaking or amazement, we pray to help write the script and not just be an out of control actor.  We pray that you will be on stage with us, helping us with our lines and guiding our actions.  AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Lord God,      We turn to you in faith, knowing that your arms will comfort us and your light will push away the darkness. Even when we slip and slide and fall and cry, you are there to grab our hand and pick us up. You lift us into safety with words of assurance and love. You fill the gaps in our minds and patch the holes in our hearts.  You are ever mindful of us, and we turn to you, accepting your grace that  flows over us like a river of living water and the spirit filled wind. In gratitude, AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear God,     With unceasing prayer and spirit-hearts filled with gratitude we  enter this day. Surrounded by comforts, goodness and blessings we open our eyes into opportunities and possibilities of soul-grace and mind-peace. We pray that you, love, will pick us up and carry us gladly. We pray our feet leave the ground and we float in joy and wonder. We pray that mystery and beauty ignite us and our meditations be God filled. May thankfulness be our voice and gentleness our touch. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Dear God,     May we be people of loving kindness.  May our relationships be caring and gentle.  Forgive us our irritability and impatience.  Without forgetting ourselves, may we put other people ahead of ourselves and may our kindness flow like a river of love.  In understanding and love might we be people of your  pleasure  and gift ourselves to others. AMEN

MorningPrayer Friday

Image
Dear God,    We pray that golden virtue values like, hope, peace, joy and love will be the building blocks upon which we build our life. We see these as resting upon the bedrock of faith as understood in the God of love and the Jesus of deepest compassion and action. We pray that we will grow from the bedrock and the building blocks as a creative formation of the Kingdom of God that lifts high these principles and lives in the beauty of your image. AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
My God,     Prayer is a fickle companion; sometimes drifting into our thoughts like the scent of roses in a summer evening.  Sometimes blasting us with icy fingers of arctic wind.  Sometimes prayer holds us lovingly, offering comfort and hope and sometimes we cling to prayer on the finger-less cliff of the abyss.  But, even still prayer is always here, a reliable companion in our life. Thank you, God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednseday

Image
Dear God,     For the gifts and abilities you give us, we pray that we use them to our fullest. Let us not be bogged down in quicksand but let us be lifted up on eagles wings and rejoice in the anointing oils of your love and grace.  Let us continue to gain in knowledge and wisdom so we might be vessels of your presence and vehicles of your compassion. Empower us Lord, AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God,      Sometimes the day gets away from us, whisked away on a north wind and scattered in flickering snowflakes. We stretch ourselves, trying to hold on, and still slip and slide across the drive.  We breathe deeply and center ourselves in quiet reflection and thoughts twist and turn in our mind like race cars flying by. And then, a bit of sunlight falls into the palm of our hand, like a prayer blown on the southern breeze and we turn and smile into the light and feel your touch. AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God,     In losses and changes in life, we often feel lost and unable to change or adapt. Our very souls are touched and we experience gaps in reality and teeter on the cliff of knowing and being. We need your help to find our way, and live through the losses and gaps.  Help us God, even when we forget to turn to you, and let us help and pray for others, when they are to lost to pray themselves. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear God,      We applaud who we are, humanity; rising from dust and mud, inspired with holiness and made in your image.  We rejoice in our art, music, literature, creativity, skills and acts of compassion, goodness and kindness. We are lifted up in sacred worth in our worship of you, our God. But, we fall on our knees back into the mud of our beginning in hatred, bitterness anger and acts of cruelty. Our sins of relationship, ego, arrogance, pride and envy bring us low. Help us, God, to be the people you envisioned. Help us to rise to our potential of enlightenment and peace. Hear our prayers, O God, for we are on our knees. AMEN

MorningPrayer Saturday

Image
Lord God,     We raise blue Hosannas, the morning sky filling our hearts and minds in hope, a new day to embrace.  Take us away, new day, soar us on eagles wings and angels breath our voices singing praise and anthems of endless harmonies. Let our living prayer ignite and flame across the sky, our very spirits of love filled and burning. AMEN

MorningPrayer Thursday

Image
Dear God,     May we be aware of our decisions and actions. Help us to pause and reflect on what we do based on who we are, what we think and believe and our understanding.   We pray for good decisions, God, that bring good consequences.  May we be so bold and committed that we turn to you in prayer, for the decisions of our life. AMEN

MorningPrayer Wednesday

Image
Dear God,    May we be a living prayer, today.  If in a crowd, may we be a burning candle of unflickering devotion and constancy. If we are alone, may we be a sacred fire of simple faith. If we are needed, may we be a holy pillar of hope and grace. If we are unnoticed, may we be a serene resting place of harmony. Use us as you will, God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Tuesday

Image
Dear God,      Do you hear the cries of your children, groaning in the wilderness, struggling with chaos  and filling cups with bitter tears. Do you see your children with heads bowed under the heavy weight of injustice, persecution and hatred.  Do you know that your children struggle with righteousness and misunderstanding.  Hear our prayers, O God. We want to live in peace and joy and follow our hearts in love and life. Hear our prayers, O God. AMEN

MorningPrayer Monday

Image
Dear God,    We pray to be aware of actions given and actions received.  No matter how little or large, may we see the rhythm of your touch, O God, and understand our connections to one another. Caught in this web of life, we breathe the breath of the ancient people and pray the prayers of the future yet to come. We are the sunlight in our morning drink and the minerals in our afternoon bread.  We are the results of wisdom words and dreams unfolding. We are spirit and soul, the heartbeat of the universe. AMEN

MorningPrayer Sunday

Image
Dear God,     Empty our minds so we might know a moment of peace for we are tattered and frayed and need soothing and smoothing.  Our thoughts are jumbled up in the junkyard of our heart and our ears are ringing and screeching  ceaselessly. Gather us gently and sit us in the meadow of your spirit and grace us with soft music and the hum of angels.  May we be still. May we find serenity in the moment of nothingness. AMEN
