MorningPrayer Wednesday

Dear God,
     We examine ourselves in the face of creation's unfolding.  Are we like stars blazing across the void. Are we like  moss growing along the meadow pond.  Have we been kind and caring or caused harm.  Have we wounded or healed  kindred spirits. Has our footprint across the land reflected respect or negligence. Have we  striven for the highest and best. Lord, the time of reckoning is now.  We bow our heads in the shadow of the cross.  We pause. We are still. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
