MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
   For the many blessings we have, we give thanks...for instance...
-even if we don't like our job, at least we have one.
-if we have trouble with our memory, at least we remember that we don't always remember.
-for our house that needs repairs, at least we have a roof over our heads.
-for our country, however imperfect, at least we have freedoms.
-for loved ones we have had in our lives, their spirit is always with us.
    In gratitude, we give thanks for your presence in our lives and for the wholeness, wellness and healing grace in which we live. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
