MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,






   The routine of the days is consistent and ongoing: "there is morning and there is evening", another day...
Is "there nothing new under the sun?"
What we did yesterday, we will do today and we will do tomorrow.  
Is there a break in the routine, God?
Perhaps, the pause, the moment of newness is in our hearts of compassion and our souls of love.
It is here that we find meaning and the transforming spirit of life. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
