MorningPrayer Sunday

Dear God,
   Still praying.  Still have a lot of things on our minds and in our hearts.  Concerns, sorrows, anxieties and pain, still there, but in our prayer, they are doable.  Prayer keeps us going. Finding our way through the wilderness.  Joys, thanksgiving, gratitude, smiles, love laughter and wonder, still there.  Amazing life, this.  And today, we begin a four week journey to Bethlehem, the birth, of course, of Jesus.  It is a prayerful time as the Holy family travels through the dirt and dissent of their life into a night of wonder and mystery.  Let's travel in prayer, shall we? AMEN

Dear God, The morning mist consumes much of the world in its shroud of unknowing. But revealed is the rock on which I stand and the raft of safety if I venture forth. You, O God, are the rock and the raft, for wherever I go, you are there. For your love and grace is always with us all. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
