MorningPrayer Sunday

Dear God,
     Morning has broken open and here we are, immersed in mist and sun, opportunity and potential.  In this morning of praise and thanks, hold us as vessels of promise and vehicles of new hope. May our anthem of glory saturate the darkest hearts and open our minds to a new melody alive with the harmony of diversity and the mystery of the unexplored. In the brilliance of the Cosmic Christ may we sing the God song. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
