Morning Prayer Saturday




Dear God,
Morning in the mountains can be a time of Glory and Awe.
We need signs of beauty  and moments of hope, right now.
We are living in a bleak time, God, of isolation and increasing fear.
Financial ruin is a large part of our concern and illness is another.
We pray for those who have already lost so much during this virus,
and for those who have lost life and loved ones, our hearts are filled with compassion.
In the silence of this morning, we pause and pray for our world.
We ask for your help, God, and ask forgiveness for our sins.
Above all, we need ongoing love and grace.
AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
