MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
     Help us to be observant of our attitudes, words and actions; as the quiet pond or lake is reflective of the world, might we be quietly reflective of what falls upon us.  Help us to not absorb that which is malicious, hurtful or unkind. May we reflect back to the world that which is harmonious, peaceful and beautiful.  Might we be  firm in our convictions in so far as they magnify your grace and the compassion of Jesus. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
