MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
    For this writer and for most of us reading this prayer, we have so many options in life. In the midst of those options, we have comforts, conveniences, luxuries and expendables; breakfast choices, clothing choices, car choices, doing choices... the list is long.  It is not that we don't also have difficulties, stressors, pain and loss, because we do... but. So, it is humbly and with gratitude that we give thanks and recognize that we are a privileged minority in this world. We lift up this prayer of thanks and pray for those who have not. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
