MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
Hold fast to us in the evening waters of our life.
 Float us in the shallow tide of warm ripples and snug us down in the sands of time. 
We know we can not drift to far from your presence for wherever we go, you are there. 
Your embrace is beauty and truth, light and warmth, joy and peace. 
In you and on you, we find our rest.
 AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
