MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
Sometimes, with your help and guidance, we need to cut away some of our own branches.
We need to prune our self so that we can grow better, straighter, purer.
The growth process requires monitoring at all phases of our life.  
We look to the Holy Spirit to give us knowledge and wisdom as we grow and develop.
Yes, sometimes this is painful but we know you will support us in our efforts at growth
and that this pruning will make us better members of the Kingdom.
You are our master gardener, O God.
AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
