MorningPrayer Friday

O God,
    Good Friday!  The Garden of sweat and tears is behind us, now. Sometimes we must crawl through despair,  in order to find salvation. We remember, we are told about this story of pain and suffering, doubt and darkness. But we know, that behind the thundering clouds and the tremors of earth, rise a new dawn and new hope and new life. We know that you not only wait for us at the end of the path, but you are with us on that path. Thank you God. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
