MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
     The morning light falls softly across our land, glittering in the raindrops and sparkling on the grasses.  Trees glimmer and shake. Cascading  diamonds slither through the expectant air.  We are immersed in an awakening world. We pray to be aware and alert.  We pray to be saturated in the day and experience the whispering spirit in all its possibilities. May we be filled with the hush of new life and saturated in ever  present grace. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
