MorningPrayer Saturday

Creator God,
    We slid into life, each in our own time, place and way.  An earthen manger is prepared for us.  We pray that love nurtures us and mercy feeds us. Born into hope and a vision of eternity, we long to live as the reflection of you, our God. Is the book of our life written by the choices we make or the pages we turn? We long for happiness and meaning and for the epilogue to read, Living happily ever after with the Lord God. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
