MorningPrayer Sunday

Dear God,
 Your church celebrated Palm Sunday today, a day of celebration , loud Hosannas and joy.
Even though some buildings have fallen into decay, surrounded by the dead and sightseers, your church is still vital and vibrant.  Cathedrals and buildings everywhere were filled with waving palms and hymns of triumph.
  We are trying, God, but we always need your help.  Fill us with the Holy Spirit and embrace us with your loving Grace so we might bring your Kingdom to earth and fill your people with peace.  In Jesus name, we pray. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
