MorningPrayer Sunday

Dear God,
    The song birds usher in the day, even before the sun appears.  Do they know it is coming? I guess they have infinite faith and are part of the rhythms of our world. May we have the trust of the songbird so that our song might rise in unison with your love. May we be part of this great cycle of life, knowing that, yes, it will turn out well.  You hold our song in your hands and the melody in your heart. We trust. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
