MorningPrayer Friday

Dear God,
   Relax us.  Place us in the stream in the meadow and flow through the sinews of our bodies until they melt and hum.  Bring our minds to stillness in the swaying grasses and the whir of sunlight dancing in the air.  Attend to us like a mother hen, collecting us in the safety of your wings.  In you we have our very breath and our beings belong to you. In you, we are nurtured and nourished and we grow. In you we are. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
