MornningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
    There is a gentleness in the seeds of the soil as they start a new life. So timidly they enter a strange, sometimes harsh earth of wind, rain heat and cold. So bravely they thrust fragile growth into  life and start again. How can this be, we ask, this trust in our world?  Only in faith and through the love of the Spirit. Only in the whispers of a God of grace and mercy can this be. Only in the Jesus of new beginnings. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
