MorningPrayer Friday

Dear God,
    We pray for  those who are affected by the hurricane; for the terror that comes in the winds and waves, the loss of homes and community.  For those who have lost their lives and those left behind. We pray that love and caring will be strong in support and that we who have not been affected will feel our hearts moved and respond with our hands as best we are able. We are often at the mercy of the unexpected and can not change what is.  May we be strong in our faith and in our own spirit may we strive for the highest and best. With  God and in Jesus we pray AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
