MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
  May this day bring the opportunity to pause beside still waters and drink of your spirit.  May we know the comfort of a meadow of luxurious grasses and be nourished.  May we experience the  hand of righteousness and the piercing gaze of justice and  know truth. May we see the reflection of the earth in the pond and know beauty. And as we have been cared for, tended, comforted and loved, so might we do likewise. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
