Dear God,
    Today, some of us need to flit from bush to bush like a butterfly in the breeze. Random floating exercises of leisure, carefree personal expression. Today, some of us need to move in a straight bee-line from flower to flower, accomplishing tasks undone and missions yet to be accomplished. The agenda is tight and the time is short. Whatever, our needs and desires for the day, might we still take time to pause, give thanks, offer praise, smile purposefully and laugh. occasionally. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
