MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
   Sometimes fear gets in our way, holding us back, keeping us from moving forward.  Help us to deal with our fears and take the steps through the wilderness we must take.  When the demons of the wild threaten to overwhelm us, may we set our gaze on you and reach out a hand for you to hold. Give us the strength and courage to cast aside doubts, and anxieties and move with cautious confidence into the  wilderness of our fears and dreams. Be a pillar of light for us, O God. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
