MorningPrayer Monday

Dear God,
     There is a time for healing, a time to be soothed and comforted.  
     There is a time for spirit refreshment, a time to be washed and purified.
     There is a time for your cloak of protection and the touch of your garment hem.
     There is a time for the ointment of compassion and the memory of nard and tears.
      Now is the time for immersion in your presence and sipping from the cup of grace.
      Now, Lord, now. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
