MorningPrayer Thursday

Dear God,
     We are a little confused.  How are we to continue in the goodness of our lives when so many others have little goodness?  Did we work harder, better, smarter... or were we just lucky where and how and who we were born?  Do we say, Oh well, that's life or do we sit in pride at our good fortune or hang our heads in despair?
     Perhaps, you will show us the way of compassion, of steadfast love, of caring, sharing committed grace so we can use who and what we are to make a positive difference.  Help us, God, to be the hands and voice of Jesus in the world. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
