MorningPrayer Wednesday

Dear God,
     May our minds be as clear as the star-filled sky, without blemish and wrinkle.  May our conscience be pure as the blue heavens, looking to eternity.  If we fear our past deeds or our thoughts, may we turn to you, O God, and look deeply into your infinite love for the compassion of forgiveness. May we know the deep peace of loving grace that brings comfort to our spirits and peace to our souls.  Set us free, we cast ourselves into your hands for mercy. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
