MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
         How very fortunate some of us are.  We have lived in the bounty and luxury of goodness and plenty; water, food, shelter, family, friends, faith surround us.  We have the luxury of time and choice to observe the beauty of the world and pick and choose from its resources that of our desire.  How blessed are we.  We give you thanks, God and in gratitude hope to live our lives in recognition and praise.  In faith, that our souls are in your keeping, may we be in contentment and deep peace. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
