MorningPrayer Wednesday

Dear God,
   Be with us in our sorrows and disappointments.  When our expectations are not met and we feel let down and disillusioned, refine our thoughts and support us in our grief. Temper our hopes with more realistic visions but let us not loose our ideals and dreams. May we be flexible like a palm tree and filled with the Holy Spirit which restores and renourishes our soul. We trust in the light of your grace and believe that love triumphs. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
