MorningPrayer Friday

Dear God,
   Help us to dig deep into the soil of ourselves and find that which is already there.  For, over the ages we have been formed and we are miles deep of rich, dark sediment and layers of wealth. Help us to find the enriched soil where a young seedling is just sprouting.  Help us to dig into that patch of dark  rock where diamonds glitter and gold flows in ribbons and silver melts in the mouth. Help us to mine the growth of   brilliance, love and compassion. Help us to unearth the joy and laughter and celebrate our gifts. Thank you, God.AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
