MorningPrayer Saturday

Dear God,
   May we have an experience of the Holy Spirit, today.  A breath of new life, a heavenly dove, a water immersion with a prayer, an experience of need or power... May we feel the uplifting rush of an eagle bearing us on wings of grace and strength.  May we realize a soothing, healing touch of angelic hands.  May we know the Word inside of us and the indwelling, abiding spirit of divine grace that comforts, sustains, guides and teaches us in new wisdom. May we know new life in your spirit. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
