MorningPrayer Friday

Lord,
   Help us to speak  our hearts in kindness and gentleness but with intensity and passion.  May the truth of our hearts and minds be heard in the sounds of our mouths.  May our words bring insight and healing of spirits to the conflicted.  May we discern your thoughts in silence, understand them in quiet reflection and speak them in wise response. Be our prayer and voice. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
