MorningPrayer Wednesday

Dear God,
   Is that a cricket or a wee bird, chirping awake our eyes this morning?  Or is it the twinkling in our minds, the residue of a slippery dream or the details of a day ticked off with a pen?  Maybe it is prayers coming to roost in our heart and mind, from people who love and care and share their hopes for our life through the vehicle of grace.  Or God, is it you, reminding us that life is a tick at a time and we best make the most of it, for the Holy Spirit is moving us on and heaven is now. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
