MorningPrayer Tuesday

Dear God,
   When tragedy strikes and we live in chaos and the wind and waves of life threaten to overwhelm us, may we be mindful of our faith.  Our faith that is the foundation of our life and will sustain us and keep our heads above water. When we are filled with doubts and fears and the stressors of life make us despair, help us keep our eyes and heart on the Risen Christ who will hold us in loving compassion. In humility we enter into your mercy and grace. AMEN

Good morning God,      Today is a sad troubling day for many of us. It is difficult to understand the choice of President that was made.   For the past year we have heard Trump express sentiments that are against everything we value and hold as moral in human relations. That he has been supported in his rhetoric is an indictment of our culture and people.   Do we really believe this, or were we pulled into political ranting and raving. It has been divisive, racist, sexist, mean-spirited and certainly not Christian in its focus and content. It is not the values that Jesus expressed or that the Bible shares of love, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance. I am dismayed and pessimistic about this choice.       It remains to be seen whether he truly means what he has said and will pull our country further down this path.   With your help, God, we ask the Holy Spirit to give us a large dose of wisdom, clarity and kindness.  We need to elevate our values of goodness, acceptance, understandi
